Austin Pruitt is one of 23 pitchers scheduled to pitch this weekend as the Rays open their spring scheduled.

Hey, there’s a baseball game Friday night!

The guy making the first pitch for the Rays will be Austin Pruitt. The ninth-round Rays draft pick in 2013, Pruit was 8-11 with a 3.76 ERA in AAA Durham last year in 28 starts.

It’s Pruitt’s first year on the 40-man roster, and Kevin Cash talked about how the 27-year-old right-hander is a very calm and cool customer on the mound with good command of his pitches.

Per 620wdae.com, here’s the full pitching docket for the weekend.
