Arm Swap Tosses Romero To D.C.
February 7th, 2017Left-hander Enny Romero — as in Ennybody can hit him — is now a member of the Nationals.
Yes, the Rays gave up on the 26-year-old with a 99 miles per hour fastball despite having financial controls on him for years.
Romero fetched right-hander Jeffrey Rosa, who struggled in the Gulf Coast League.
Romero retired the first 17 batters he faced last season before reverting back to the pitcher he is. In 80 innings with the Rays since 2014, Romero allowed 82 hits and 45 walks.
He will not be missed.
