“That’s Kind Of Like Three Different Players Than We Had To Start Last Year”

Is good Corey Dickerson the real Corey Dickerson?

This might scare Rays fans, but the team is very much excited about picking up where it left off last year.

At least when it comes to their offense.

The Rays were 12-16 in September but Kevin Cash sees the silver lining shining bright.

Cash general manager Erik Neader and senior VP of baseball operations Chaim Bloom sat down for a media kickoff session at spring training.

“I keep falling back, and not to sound like a broken record,” Cash said. “Look, Corey Dickerson, Brad Miller and Logan Morrison really came on at the end of last year. If we see that to start the season, that’s kind of like three different players than we had to start last year. … So the thought is, ‘Let’s finish where we left off from an offensive standpoint with those guys.'”

Cash added that he’s incredibly optimistic after the rise of even more bats to close 2016.

So much to prove, but the Rays, for now, think a lot of that was done in meaningless games.
