Rays To Sign A-Rod?

August 11th, 2016
Can't develop a stick.

Can’t develop a stick.

There is no more sound mind covering the Rays than the one over at Rays Index.

And it’s there that an intelligent case is made why the Rays might legitimately pursue Alex Rodriguez when he is released Friday from Yankees.

And it is also not like the Rays haven’t made almost an exact-same move before. Remember Manny Ramirez? A proven steroid user, late in his career, and a right-handed bat who had a little left in the tank as the Rays looked to catch lightning in a bottle.

Maybe the Manny scenario scared the Rays. But if A-Rod is willing to play for whatever the veteran minimum is in order to get to 700 home runs, why not take a chance?

The Rays have no interest in signing Rodriguez now. That doesn’t mean they won’t have interest in February.

There’s more via the link above, and this isn’t just spit against the all. The article spawned from Buster Olney of BSPN tabbing A-Rod for the Rays or Marlins.

Joe called for the Rays to bean A-Rod on Friday, but Joe would understand if Stu Sternberg wanted to give A-Rod a shot. With the ways the Rays hit at home, that calls for drastic measures.

If the Rays want to sell tickets in this dismal season just sign Tebow and give him a big league tryout.

Don’t we have enough DHs hitting .220 and not worth a spit in the field already ? No, now is the time to see who’s going to be playing in 2017. Schaffer needs a shot a lot more than cheating Rodriguez !

LOL, that’s a good one, A-rod playing for the Rays. Trying to convert the huge exodus of Yankee fans here to become Rays fans. Give us your tired, your rejected has beens, your roided out liars. Boo’s all around.

Good points gentlemen! Sign A-Roid? That sounds like a Chuck LaMar move, remember that nitwit who made the current rays’ front office look like Mensa Officers (not all his fault as Vince Naomoli probably gave him a $100 bill to get talent and then asked for the change ala Hugh “The Screw” Culverhouse”!) If ya wanna make a splash, get Tebow playing A-Ball in Port Charlotte for the Stone Crabs and see if he can climb the ladder! Right ow I would say anything close to 70 wins and avoiding 100 losses will be a plus!

We’re falling ! Falling to the century loss mark ! Help !
