Halftime Jennings Finally Booted

August 27th, 2016

JenningsRaysIn what was a surprise only because of the timing, Desmond Jennings was released today.

One of the great spring training players of the Rays’ decade will no longer torture fans.

As RaysIndex.com noted, Jennings’ run was marked by unavailability.

Jennings also played in just 216 out of a possible 451 games. That’s not good.

And, Joe believes, Jennings should have been gone the moment this play occurred earlier this season.

Could Timmy Beckham be next? The way that kid loafed it in Boston was worthy of a red eye to Durham and given that he is a repeat offender I believe he should not be called back up when the Bulls finish their season: give that slot on the expanded roster to someone else, who knows the rays may find a diamond in the rough and they already know how badly Timmy has underachieved since being drafted ahead of Buster Posey and Eric Hosmer!
