40 Bombs For Longo?

July 17th, 2016

How bout those Rays! Tampa Bay reeled off its second win of the month this afternoon against Baltimore!

Evan Longoria two solo bombs — and they were bombs — were the intrigue in the 5-2 win.

Longo now has 21 homers on the season. It’s July 17. Joe’s now all over the 40-homer bandwagon for ol’ No. 3. The power surge this season is no fluke, with Longo entering the year in better shape, fully healthy, and with a scarier bat behind him in the lineup. (Joe’s being kind on the latter.).

The Rays’ franchise player has belted 30+ homers three times; the last was 32 in 2013. His career high was 33 dingers in 2009.

Joe feels energized, like there’s a new mission for this season. Can Longo get to 26 by the end of this month? Can he enter September with 33? Can he somehow get to bat against Chris Archer?

Can Longoria pass a drug test ?

That’s a stretch…. There’s a few baseball players that I would honestly be shocked they were doing any PEDs, Derek Jeter and Evan Longoria are those players. It would be shocking and disappointing if that was ever true. To much talent to need that crap

Those were both beautiful to watch. The first sounded great, the 2nd was on of the best i’ve seen at Tropicana.

It sucks that our season is reduced to fast forwarding through the game to watch Longo’s at bats.

That second homer was definitely a blast Miguel, I think Aubrey Huff and Canseco may have launched one that far way back in the D’Ray days but that Longo bomb has to be one of the longest hit in recent history! I guess pulling for Longo to get 40 homers before the rays lose 100 games is about one of the few things Rays fans can cheer for this season!
