Complete Victory

June 13th, 2016

Healthy small ball, sparkling defense and A+ starting pitching.

Now that was a Rays game yesterday. Making Astros’ struggling ace Dallas Keuchel look like, um, Chris Archer, was a beautiful thing. With three series wins in a row, you can say with a straight face that the Rays have turned a corner. Enjoy the happy highlights below.

The good things I see are that that was not Moores best performance, there is a lot more upside for this young pitcher.

Souza has developed into an exciting defensive player and solid hitter.

    Forsythe is back.

Longoria is having an excellent season.

Lomo seems to be getting better defensively while swinging a big bat.

I’d have agree with Logan Morrison on that list as well, Big Michael. One of the M & M Turds from Seattle, had 2 more hits with a run scored. I was his worst critic. How do you go from hitting .056 for a month and a half and then come back to almost hit. 500 for end of May and June ? It wasn’t as if he had hit everything hard and just had bad luck. It was a dribbler to 2nd base here and a pop up to the third base there; with an occasional dribbler to the pitcher. What changed ?

When I heard Blake Snell was being called up from the minors, I was happy. But when I heard Matt Andriese was being sent to the bullpen, I originally thought it was a bad move. Andriese was the only consistent starter they’ve had this year. Why punish him ? After learning more, I have to agree. He did well in that role last year with a power arm, control, and the ability to bounce back after throwing a couple of innings the prior day. Makes the bullpen a lot stronger. Hopefully the latest mini spurt by our starters will continue.
