Not Enough Fingers To Point
June 3rd, 2016The Rays’ slide continues … and add the bullpen to the list of problems.
Matt Moore threw batting practice against the Twins yesterday, but he left after five innings with the score tied at four. Then Erasmo Ramirez and Xavier Cedeno both allowed a run late, leading to a bag-to-the-face 6-4 loss at Target Field. Erasmo, now 6-4, is far from the superstar he was through the first six weeks of the season.
Everything about the Rays is frustrating now, so picking something to criticize is like throwing at a dartboard.
One day, it’s the offense. Another day, it’s the defense. Then another, it’s the starters. After that, it’s the bullpen.
Of course, when your Nos. 6 — 9 hitters are all batting under .200, you’re begging to lose.
Look, no one escapes blame in times like these. Joe understands baseball is a game of rhythms and momentum. The good thing about the game is there’s always another day. But that can be a bad thing as well, especially when everything seems to be going wrong.
A slump can be a cruel, tricky maze.
Batten down the hatches if this series against lowly Minnesota continues to take a turn south! The Twins are just 16-37 after Thursday – tied for worst in the majors – but the Rays don’t look any better than them at the moment. Woof.
Got any Tylenol? Stock up if you haven’t already done so.

Brian Anderson echoed what I’ve been saying all along about that lazy ball player, Desmond Jennings. It’s obvious he doesn’t give a oily discharge. What made it more maddening to BA is that Coach Cash-less is letting this happen. Should have pulled his sorry butt off the field when he let the Royals runner turn a single into a double which later scored. Then doesn’t play Jennings in the 1st Twins game. Later says, him pulling Jennings had nothing to do with his play. There is a time to make these guys accountable and there is a time to back your player. This is the time to go all old testament on this team.

I saw a vision of Muhammad Ali in the night time sky over Oldsmar, FL and his hair was perfect!
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

A great champion. The best boxer without a knock out punch. He’d win by TKO after slicing and dicing with his jab. So quick. I remember him fighting the English Champ. Ali hit him with 3 jabs in a row before the other fighter could retreat. The English fighter’s face was a bloody mess when they finally called the fight. Probably should have called it TKO 2 rounds earlier. Thrilla in Manila, rope a dope; he was one of a kind.

Very good to see that Evan Longoria is up to 12 home runs in a third of the season. He’s usually a late starter with a usually hot, end of August & September. Guess they can’t pitch around him anymore. How can a team that leads the major leagues in Home runs be in last place ?
