Vomiting & The Sunday Snooze

As you carried on your weekend, you might have picked up a hurling sound coming from the Trop on Sunday afternoon.

That was the bullpen hacking up runs in the top of the ninth inning. Specifically, it was Alex Colome spilling his lunch after he entered with runners on first and second base and no outs. What was a 1-1 tie became a 5-1 Blue Jays victory after Colome allowed two runs, two hits and one walk (Xavier Cedeno was responsible for two).

This was a rough way to lose and drop the series. Jake Odorizzi was solid through seven innings, allowing just one run and two hits with six strikeouts. He pitched well enough to win, but the Rays’ offense wet the bed again and the bullpen failed to mop up the damage.

Colome doesn’t escape blame, because his job is to wiggle out of tough spots. But how in the heck are you supposed to win with only one run?

That’s placing unneeded pressure on your starters and relievers. That’s a recipe for a five-alarm disaster.

Sure, Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. But it would be swell if the Rays’ offense put in a little more work.

I want to spit bullets and throw granades randomly. Silverman, are you just that PIG headed? After the game when they asked Manager Cash if he had any comment, he said “I’ve got nothing to say”. I think he finally got it after he read my post in the prior blog by Joe. You’ve got James Loney with his fabulous hair sitting down in the Padres Organization collecting 8 Million dollars FROM YOU. Even if his batting average is “down” to .280, that’s still more than twice what the M & M Turds from Seattle are hitting. Make the call Silverman, Cash wants him and we want him. These games are going to be hard to make up in September. YOU’VE got one of the best pitching rotations in all of baseball and you are pis*ing it away !
