Tickle Me Erasmo?

Eras-MVP?

Hey, why not?

The guy improved to 3-0 with a microscopic 1.42 ERA in a win over the Stinkin’ Saux last night. He struck out one and allowed no hits in one inning on the heels of Drew Smyly’s eight-inning masterpiece.

Ramirez has been a walking Swiss Army knife this season. Need him to come out of the bullpen? Fine. Need him to start? Will do. Need him to fan foes and do it with a smile? That’s Tickle Me Erasmo, one of the most positive dudes in the Rays’ clubhouse.

It’s easy to make the argument that Ramirez has been Tampa Bay’s most valuable player. Until recently, starting pitching had wobbled. The offense has gone through stretches of being as silent as a hen in a fox den. Reliever Alex Colome has been solid, but he hasn’t been called upon to start like Ramirez.

Don’t look now, but the Rays have posted a season-long three-game winning streak. Ramirez has had his fingerprints all over two of the victories. He kicked off the party with his start Saturday against the White Sox, when he allowed no runs and three hits in 5 2/3 innings. Then on Tuesday, he did the job before Tampa Bay’s offense stopped hitting the snooze button.

That’s Eras-marvelous.

I agree on Erasmo as MVP.

Does he have a first baseman’s mitt?

Where in the world is James Loney?

  2. Darth Ray-der Says:

Miguel – As you know, Loney signed a minor league contract with San Diego. But, there is an opt out clause where any major league team can sign him to play in the major leagues. San Diego has the right to match the offer. It’s surprising that no other club has made him an offer. He was in really good shape this spring and due to have a really good year. Matt Silverman is “tarnished” in my eyes bringing in the M & M Turds from Seattle..
