So Who’s Worse?

April 21st, 2016

JoeRaysMugJoe was up late trying to figure out which riddle is tougher, the one that’s turned Chris Archer into Andy Sonnanstine, or what Rays fans did to deserve the torture that is Logan Morrison.

Sadly, it’s a very tough one.

Archer was dreadful again in Boston last night, chain-whipped for six runs through 4 1/3 innings. His batting-practice fastball was humming. Archer hasn’t been sharp in a real game since, what, August?

Compounding the severe Archer mess is his inability to have his arm come close to matching his prolific mouth. There’s no talking his way out of this 0-4 disaster to start the season. There’s officially a problem now, until he puts a couple of back-to-back good outings on the board.

Morris is now riding a 1-for-26 clip with a batting average of 0.50. Can we please drop him from No. 2 to No. 8 for a while?

The whole point moving Logan Forsythe to leadoff was to get a him all those extra at bats over a season. Well, the same logic should be used for Morrison.

Oh, and the collective Rays lineup made another second-rate starter, Rick Porcello, look like a stud.

The Rays really need a recovery effort by Jake Odorizzi this afternoon at Fenway, against some guy named David Price.

Good point about moving Morrison back. I would suggest moving him and King Archer back to Durham.

Imagine a baller like Brandon Guyer batting 2nd everyday?

Imagine Erasmo in King Archer’s spot and the Rays being respectable again?

I saw a James Loney drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic’s
    And his hair was perfect.

    Aaoooo!!!

The M & M Turds from Seattle were 0 fer 7 with 4 KOs last night. I can understand keeping a guy in there if he is just having bad luck on balls being hit directly to defenders. But heck! (Golly Gee) they’re not even making contact. Check their eyesight. Maybe they need laser surgery. Darth Ray-der could help out here. Now where did I put that laser wand ? On a positive note, they did get 1 walk between them.

James Loney was reported to be at the Peek a boo lounge last night making it rain on all the dancers with Rays money. Things were going well until his Chaquita found him and all hell broke loose. There were falsies, nipple rings, and other women’s apparel strewn everywhere! Last anyone saw poor poor James, he was being led to his model 600 black Mercedes by Mercedes. I bet she could hit a few home runs. (If you know what I mean and I think you do)

For years hitters have now come to Tampa to “die” it seems like the black hole of hitting. the only comment I have is the only thing in common with all the lack of hitting over the last many years is not the players but the hitting coach. We are told it is not his fault and he does a good job. Then someone please explain to me why the team cannot develop any hitters and players who hit other places can’t seem to hit once they are part of the Rays? IMO time for a change

The 3 big off season moves obtaining Morrison, Miller and Dickerson all suck. We should have done nothing here as we could still have McGee in the pen, Shaffer should be at first and Mikey Mahtook should be playing every day in the outfield or DH. We could have gone with Beckham or Robertson at short. Sometimes our front office thinks too much. Doing nothing would have helped our club. Turn off your computer Mr Silverman and actually watch these games. The eye test alone shows you these 3 additions should be subtracted.
