Erratic Archer, Dead Bats, Trash Opening Day

April 3rd, 2016

JoeRaysMugWhat a hot mess the Rays were in their sold-out debut.

This really stunk out loud.

Chris Archer was all over the place, 12 strikouts but poor control, great stuff but sour location.
Five innings, two earned runs, three walks and Tums for everyone.

Yeah, the Rays bats were dead until the ninth inning. Garbage in this 5-3 loss the Blue Jays.

Joe really didn’t like how new Rays first baseman Logan Morrison let Jays starter Marcus Stroman get
in his head. Not a great sign on opening day.

Kevin Kiermaier getting caught stealing at third base to end an inning? That was Little League stupid. And Joe remains peeved that Desmond Jennings still doesn’t haul ass to first base. Please don’t say he’s banged up already.

At least Evan Longoria was stroking the ball well with two hits, one an RBI the other way, and their was life in the final frame.

Our pitching/defense/base running struggled last opening day too. Sure, Archer could not locate the fastball, but the Kiermier caught stealing was beyond maddening.
It’s a long season, but guys like Jennings and Souza have to contribute.

This is baseball not football. Its all about winning the series.

Joe rides the roller coaster of emotion, as most fans do. –Joe
